My wife chose to get a Wii U for Christmas 2012, so I had it pretty close to launch. Nintendo Land was unique among the Wii U titles, and I got the seven classic games that Nintendo released for 30 cents each.
There just wasn't much of anything that put all the Wii U capabilities to good use. Probably the "best" titles were upgrades of first-party Wii titles, like Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club.
I played a lot of TranZit within the Zombies mode of Call Of Duty: Black Ops II, and eventually I bought my wife her own Wii U, just so we could have two units with an Ad Hoc connection between them and play TranZit with 4 players. She ended up playing all the way through Need For Speed: Most Wanted U.
"They'll never do it in time!"
"The code! The code! Figure out the code!"
"It won't be easy!"
"Cut this out second, this fourth, this first, this third."
